Generation 'E' Grants And Scholarships Sponsored by The NEGOTIATORS Mentor, Inc., A Colorado Nonprofit 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Corporation.
LITTLETON, Colorado, February 15, 1999--The NEGOTIATORS Mentor, Inc. today announces a unique approach to encourage Would-Be Mentors to attain formal Mentor Education and Competency Certification and seek designation as an appointed mentor. The non- traditional grant and scholarship program is a key part of the nonprofit corporation's community renewal strategy.
The $10,000 grant and scholarship award program is a great opportunity to provide recognition to formal Mentor Education and Competency Certification, help encourage technology use, influence development of campus Mentor Internships at degree-granting institutions, and most importantly, to honor the efforts of Would-Be Mentors both in the workplace (age 21 and older) and college campuses (age 17 and older).
All prospective applicants 17 and older are required to register as Would-Be Mentors, take a pre-test examination and provide an 8-digit confirmation number as proof of curriculum textbook purchase using the corporation's on-line bookstore, a BarnesandNoble.com affiliate.
Ten Generation 'E' Grant and Scholarship award recipients will be named at a national recognition event in Denver, Colorado October 23, 1999 to coincide with USA WEEKEND'S Make A Difference Day activities. Each recipient receives a $1,000 grant or scholarship to support his or her community work.
